Passive

Passive RFID tags don’t have a battery onboard; they draw energy from radio waves that are transmitted by a reader’s antenna. There are different types of passive tags, but all work the same way. These tags rely on a simple circuitry in their IC and an internal antenna to communicate with the reader’s RF system.
